2026 GRANT RECIPIENTS
These projects vary from year to year but our goal is to encourage the development of local educational youth programs in our Traverse City community. This year a total of $3,000 was awarded to five different nonprofit organizations to help support them in their educational projects. This is another opportunity for our club to give back to our community. Janet Hickman, Chair, 7 members
All club members are encouraged to submit grants in the Traverse City area pertaining to school projects, improvement of parks, environmental projects, and all nonprofits that are making a difference in promoting environmental responsibility in good stewardship in our community.
This year's grant award were given for:
--NMC received $2,300 to plant bulbs that bloom at different times from early spring to fall for the NMC entrance
--Two thousand dollars would be set aside for the CSG intern's special project required for MSU college credit
--Funds for $2,000 for two shade umbrellas for the Curiosity Cart used at the CSG and throughout The otanic Garden
--Funds for $750 for new mailboxes for the GT Children's Garden at the library which are used for educational materials
--MGC State Scholarship Fund, $200, which provides scholarships at $15 each to state schools for horticulture-related students.
