2023 Logo Planting
One of our most well known projects is our Logo Garden that we design, plant, and weed every year at the Open Space in downtown Traverse City. The Logo Garden requires all club members' participation in planting and maintaining over 6,000 annual flowers and is appreciated by our members, the community, and all visitors to Traverse City. Our club designs, plants and maintains a logo garden (approx 6,000 flowers) in the Traverse City Open space. All active members are expected to participate in planting the design and weeding throughout the summer and fall. George & Susan Townsend, Co-Chairs, 8 members, plus entire club helps with planting and weeding. This year the Logo planting took place on May 27, 2026.

Local Business Beautification Awards--2026
Each year the Civic Beautification Committee searches our community for large and small businesses who have established beautiful gardens on their property. These businesses are presented with a Landscape Design Award from our club for beautifying our local community. George & Susan Townsend, Co-Chairs, 8 members.
Landscape Design Award Winners:
The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City recognizes business gardens each year in our community that use plants and landscaping to enhance the beauty of their spaces. This year Seismoto Coffee Bar and the Traverse City Country Club were selected for the awards. Congratulations!
