Our Giving Garden  (Component of Youth Gardening Committee)           20 members

"Our Giving Garden" is located in the Community Gardens near the Historic Park Barns at The Botanic Garden.  The garden is now "put to bed" for the winter.   We had a great growing season this year and donated approximately 300 pounds of food to our local food pantry.  Look for us planting this spring!

Our Giving Garden component of Youth Gardening is responsible for designing and creating a garden that can be used for furthering educational gardening activities with children and youth of all ages as well as planting and harvesting the garden with produce donated to the community’s local food banks or used for our youth gardening educational programs.

Our Giving Garden is used in conjunction with the Children's Sensory Garden for demonstrations and/or planting, weeding, and harvesting.  The children get to experience real gardening with the hope that they will become good stewards of the land.
